PRC’s Executive Director Khadra Mohammed andKaren Williams co-wrote a number of children’s books, including Four Feet, Two Sandals and My Name is Sangoel.

Four Feet, Two Sandals, released in 2007, is based on Khadra’s experience with Afghani refugees living in refugee camps in Pakistan. Four Feet, Two Sandals sheds light on the plight of refugee children living without basic needs in camps worldwide.

My Name is Sangoel was released July 1, 2009. The story is based on Khadra’s experience with Sudanese refugees living in refugee camps in Kenya. This book depicts the story of Sangoel, a refugee leaving behind his homeland of Sudan where his father died in the war. My Name is Sangoel portrays the challenges refugees face in America as they try to maintain their identity and heritage in their new home.
